My doc is pretty sure I have a Pilonidal Cyst and I'm getting surgery for it. Has anyone experienced this and can tell me what to expect, please?

I haven't got one, but I looked online to see what it was. It reminds me of a really bad pimple. The doctor will probably give you some Novocain around the cyst to numb the area. They will make an incision on the cyst and drain/remove the fluid and infection. After everything is taken out, the doctor will do one of two things. The first one is they will "pack" the wound, basically put gauze in the area that was opened. It will take longer to heal, but has a lower risk of recurring. The second option is the doctor will suture (stitch) the wound closed. With this, the cut will heal faster, but is more prone to come back.
