Okay, I am seriously considering getting into yoga. I have thought that if I become exceptionally skilled at, I may greatly increase my flexibility. I have heard it is a very spiritual activity, and I feel I could use clearer thinking in my life. Also, we all know what the ultimate goal of yoga is....... and that would seriously be the most awesome thing imaginable if I could do it Hell, I've thrown my back out a few times trying :roflmao: Now, your welcome to post anonymously, but has anyone on here ever achieved yoga's "enlightenment" :roflmao: Now, I'm not talking about the spiritual, psychological kind of enlightenment, I'm talking about yoga's other ultimate goal :roflmao: I think it's possible, because once I got mad close before I threw my back out....... I just told people I pulled a muscle in my back from "lifting something"
Ahah dude, I'm pretty sure that for the majority of guys, even if they are really flexible, just aren't made to....bend like that  But nope, have not tired yoga myself
Holy crap, I misread the thread title awfully. Mind must be in the gutter, jeez. Thought it said "Thinking of Doing Yoda"
I practice yoga, though not with any intent to become 'enlightened' or whatnot. It is very helpful and healthful a practice. I would certainly agree that it (as well as meditation) are exceedingly beneficial for one's physical and mental well-being. It's quite therapeutic. Also, if I may recommend a teacher, there is one on Youtube who I think is brilliant: Yoga with Tim One of the few male teachers. He's great at instructing one how to do the poses, has a calm voice and "Buddhist" vibe, and isn't bonkers (as some yoga practitioners certainly are). Plus he's rather beautiful.
Pretty sure it's kind of like trying to tickle yourself -- it's not going to feel the same as if someone else were doing it to you.
