So at the moment I'm a bit too hairy for my liking 'down below' and having never shaved there before I was wondering if there were any tips and precautions? I shave my face so is it a similar technique to that?

I use an electric trimmer (Philips Norelco Bodygroom 7100) down below because I prefer to trim and groom neatly, rather than to shave everything. There may be newer or better models available.

For me the beard trimmer is good but on the scrotum be cautious. If relaxed and hanging it will knick easily. Use a good shaver not a crappy one. Take your time and don't rush. Feels good to be trimmed but a hurry and cut a little isn't much fun at all!

I usually trim/groom the hair on the groin and shave with razors on the scrotum.

Now, if you do decide to shave your groin area with razors, just a little heads up it may feel prickly/irritating for the first few times (you get used to the feeling after a few attempts). If it does, apply some shaving lotion and you should be A-ok. Don't use a crappy razor and be very careful on the scrotum!

I use an electric shaver specifically designed for body hair--I do not shave it all off, but trim it quite a bit and it seems to work well. Yes, a few times I have come too close on my scrotum and caused a nick--that was unpleasant. But you have to be careful and go slowly.

i use a Phillips body groom pro the foil head has a trimmer built in. go slow, be careful as you can get the odd nick if a hair gets pulled out ( it does sting ) the feeling is amazing. you can get some irritation when the stubble starts to grow back but i just shave again:icon_wink
