Petro jelly works well but it is such a huge pain to clean up, it is hard to get off yourself and anything else it gets on, you have been warned. Olive oil works which you might already have, its not as slick as petro jelly but it cleans up way easier. Like NOBO said do not use soap or anything you use to clean yourself, it's really important that you file your nails smooth, no sharp edges.
