Seriously, I have had one person tell me that because I have Tor browser on my tablet the suspected me of looking at child porn and over and over I had to explain to the, NO I don't do that I use it cause of privacy reasons. While the other reason is I look at GAY PORN and I don't want my parents finding that shit on my stuff cause I have had incidence where my mom has had to use my tablet in the past and she found a shit ton of gay porn with guys doing "fetish stuff" links in my favorites of yaoi etc.

So I use Tor to anonymize my gay porn shit cause I don't want my parents seeing it, getting told I am doing something wrong then told that if I keep looking at gay porn they'll kick me out.

So is it so wrong to just keep people from yelling at you and skipping all that drama just because I use a Tor browser that one of my tech savvy friends happened to find?

  2. Seems pretty reasonable honestly.

I suppose to anyone it'll seem suspicious when someone uses private browsing. I rarely use it myself since no one else uses my computer, but I think what you're doing makes sense. Its the same as deleting your browser history here and there. I'll do it once in a while when I think my browser is super slow.

So no, I don't think what you're doing is wrong.

Not wrong. If someone is accusing you of looking at child pornography because of your browser I think they may have a serious problem. But why are you telling people that you use a browser for privacy? It is none of their business.

Why not justdelete your history ? honestly tor has that reputation for a reason you can't expect people to not think you're doing something fishy if you using it

I'm a security professional and I can say from experience that Tor is commonly used for serious digital crime that you want not even the insinuation of. No, you're doing nothing wrong but in reality it's considered fishy. Personally I would use a different browser than normal (but not Tor), keep it well patched, and use private browsing.

I also believe digital privacy is a human right but unfortunately the world isn't there yet.

Try downloading another browser on your phone and keep it hidden in a folder full of other stuff, and keep your main browser out on the main screen. That way, people won't go looking through folders to open a browser.

Personally, while I'm sure your reasons are legit, would personally just use a browser with private browsing. Lot simpler, and nobody suspects anything you're doing.

Note that this was mostly used in my case for subjects of gender, self-harm, depression etc.
