I've had a white bump right below the head of my penis for a few months. Do any other guys have a white bump there? I've heard that some guys get a white bump or a few white bumps right below the head of the penis. I've heard it's nothing to worry about though. I don't know how they get there.

I have sent an email to Jayhew (our resident doctor) asking him to come and respond to this thread.

By the way the white bump doesn't hurt in anyway and it has stayed the same size.

If there is only one and no others about on the shaft, likely is a single backed up sebaceous gland and no harm. Also if there are a few more on the shaft, then likely the Pearly Penile Papules, again a somewhat common condition (up to 48-49% of males) and does not signify disease or infection or increase risk for cancer. If cosmetically a problem, use of laser has been tried with some success. If there are lumps or bumps around the head of the penis and appear to be more of a fleshy color, likely Fordcye's papules, again a benign condition and if cosmetically a problem, laser again is used. They can cause increased sensitivity also.

Another possibility could be a break in the liner of the spongiosum (tissue that expands and contains the blood during sexual excitement and thus produces the erection) and some have "popped" out. This can happen due to any trauma during rough sexual play, etc. Unless it becomes larger and there is discomfort, they are left alone.

Hope this explains a few things but if not helpful, please feel free to PM me and we can go into greater detail.

Thanks so much. That really explains alot. Do you think I should go to a doctor to get it checked or don't worry about it? Do you think it will go away on it's own?

Reading JayHew's post, I believe you are ok, charliedude182 right????
Well, I think you can go to see your doctor and get checked. I mean you can ask your doctor to check everything so you can make sure your "tool" work properly:thumbsup:

charliedude182, if it continues to enlarge or becomes painful or causes the penis to bend in any direction and it becomes a concern, I would definitely seek out a urologist for evaluation. From what you have said and described, I think leaving it alone would be the best course of action for now. Keep me posted on how things are going.
