    Hi all.
So my problem is this. Quite some time ago, at least six months, I had a bad case of eczema (still do really) along my belt line area. It got so bad that open sores occurred because I was basically picking at it. I've had eczema in that area for almost five years, but only recently have two red lines appeared (when I say recently, I mean six months ago) to the left of my belly button. It's odd because it almost looks like a dog's nails scratched me (like the width across are about the size of my jack russell terrier but no he didn't scratch me far as I know). They are not bleeding nor were they back then, they're basically just two lines that are a light red/pinkish (shows up against my skin colour). Does anyone have an idea what it could be, like could it be an infection that came from my eczema sores? Like I've seen the doctor a few times for other things, since I'm a hypochondriac, but even when I've had my shirt off or pulled up, he's never said anything about the two red marks. So I don't know if his eyes just sort of jump over them, or he's just never seen them in all the times I've seen him.

    Any ideas?

They sound like they could be stretch marks. Google them, see if they look similar.

It's time that you saw a dermatologist about the sores. Eczema doesn't typically occur in the belt area. So, it's possible that this is either a contact dermatitis or you have an impulse disorder that triggers you to pick at your beltline until you cause sores.

A contact dermatitis can be dealt with by taking antihistamines and applying topical moisturizers and cortisone creams when you have a breakout.

The picking at the area will be a bit more challenging to deal with. But you need to address it because-as you've noted- it makes you more prone to infections and scarring.

So you know though, I've applied topical moisturizers and cortisone creams, they don't work.

Or maybe your belt leaves those marks as it pushes against your body.

I actually used to get rashes in that area because I have nickel allergy. The metal buttons on my pants would lie against my skin and cause it.

Actually Markio, that's what I have too, a nickel allergy, but I barely wear belts anymore, and they more often caused the eczema or W/E to flare up on my belt line. So yeah...it's very difficult cuz I went to many dermatologists and they couldn't tell me anything. They said eczema though so :S...

I think some of it may be stretch marks, but you should probably do a little more searching to see if there's a specialist who can help you.

That sounds like a stretch mark, people get them when either they excersice or when they become fat and then ge skinny and then get fat and then get skinny, like flip-flopping :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

anyway, if it is a stretch mark then it will turn light.
