    Anyone else have it?
Apparently almost half of my highschool is out with H1N1. I wouldn't know, though... I've been out this whole week.
This cannot just be in Massachusetts!:help:

Sadly, I've caught it. It's been well over 2 weeks now. The h1n1 was bad enough, but the secondary infections that came with it have been even more brutal to my body than the flu was. I've been off work for 2 weeks now, I still have the terrible cough, a sinus infection, an ear infection, and bronchitis. I also lost the hearing in my left ear, and about 20 % of the hearing in my right ear. This flu sucks.:***:

This woman on School Site Council's kid might have it.
Someone at my old school had it.

    That's all I know about.

I think I may have it. I stayed home from school today. I have a horrible cough, headache, hot flashes, muscle aches, temperature of 102, sore throat, and my eyes hurt really bad. But I don't know. Hopefully it's only regular flu! *crosses fingers* =]

I'm just posting an update on my H1N1 expereance. The actual flu only lasted about 8 days, it was all the respetory infections that came with the flu that knocked me on my butt. It's been 4 weeks now, and I'm pretty much back to normal. The sinus infection, the ear infection, and the bronchitius that turned into viral pneumonia are almost gone now as well. My only lingering problem is I still can't hear as well out of my left ear (I was deaf in that ear for 2 weeks). I have about 60 % of my hearing back in that ear now, and my doctor says it will return in a few more weeks. Other than the hearing loss in one ear I feel great now. (!)

It's better to have Swine Flu now rather than later, incase it mutates, so you'll have a stronger chance of not catching the mutation if you've had it now.
Also, Zach, if the flu lasted for 8 days it wasn't H1N1. Swine lasts for 5 days max, most of the time 3.

We're finding that many teenagers and children who get H1N1 are getting secondary infections- bacterial or viral sinusitis/bronchitis/pneumonias. Where a typical flu would run its course in 3-7 days, people with H1N1 are getting sick for longer periods of time because of the secondary infections.

It's a nasty flu. It really makes you feel bad.

The H1N1 immunization is now available. The bad news is that quantities are limited and it's still hard to find. The good news is that there's a nasal form available, so you don't have to get a shot.

Actually, you'll find that those secondary infections are occuring in anyone with pre-existing conditions. Asthma sufferers and the like. I didn't get a secondary infection, nor did everyone else I know who got Swine.

I was tested, and confirmed that it was H1N1. I don't have asthma, but I do have allergies to several things.
