I on the few occasions that I've engaged in oral sex (male-male), I haven't. I am curious as to how many other guys do or don't use condoms for oral sex (esp. oral sex with other guys).

I hate to say it, but I don't. I know it's still risky...but just yeah...

When I was "starting out," I would sometimes use them. Most people thought that was weird. Latex doesn't generally taste very good and oral sex is (apparently, or I figure there'd be WAAAAAY more cases of HIV infection) not as easy a route for the transmission of HIV as anal sex, so I don't use them for oral anymore.

opps I pressed yes, and it was wrong answer. I never use condoms with oral with my partner.

back when I was in college, I was in the first group of student peer counselors to be trained to counsel students getting tested for HIV, and our school was one of the first in the country offering free confidential HIV testing.

At the time, we were told to tell everyone to use condoms for oral sex, but at the time, not a lot was known about oral transmission rates. Now, as Joey said, oral transmission rates are thought to be substantially lower than anal transmission rates.

I honestly don't know many people who do use condoms for oral sex. However, some people should. If you have gingivitis (bleeding gums), canker sores, or other cuts or abrasions in your mouth, then, as I understand it, the risk is thought to be substantially higher. But, as Joey says, if transmission rates were really high via oral sex, you would presumably see a lot more HIV+ people than there appear to be.

It is recommended, but I don't. And I don't encourage anyone to do it without. I am basically risking my life too.

Though, from the poll, I guess people just don't bother. But I guess, since we are not inclined to use condoms for oral, we should at least ask the person for any known health issues? Be more cautious when we have cuts or ulcers? And try to get your mouth out before ejaculations?

These are not entirely safe methods, but it reduces the risks I guess.

Nope, never have. Back when I was with my first boyfriend, if I had a cold sore, I wouldn't do oral on him - I'd stick with manual. He was fine with that.

I said no. Truely, what is the point if you have a condom on. I could see if a flavored one was used, that would make more sense, but a plain latex one would taste bad. What you could also do is pull out before, you know, "it comes out" :]

Ummmm, nope. The odds of getting anything from oral are low unless you go to like a glory hole or something...; And, then, you deserve what you get anyways!

I can't imagine what a blowjob with a condom feels like... would the sucking even go through the condom? Seems like you'd suck the condom off, lol. I bet a handjob would feel better.

I'm not really in a situation where thats a pertinent question but I do know the center for mental health here is pushing flavored condoms for oral use. Mostly to deal with STIs rather than HIV.

Err I do have gingivitis but I don't use them. Because the fact is, my gums don't bleed often, only if I'm forcibly brushing. Just saying.

I never have used a condom for oral sex. I haven't found the risks to be that big to use one.
