There's always waxing, which hurts. But you can also try a chemical depilatory cream.

for those with gobs of disposable income, lazer removal.

those wilth money to spare, but not gobs, waxing.

otherwise I'd say shave/trim it. (it's pretty cost effective if you remember to clean the razor ^.^)

right! nair! forgot about that one ^.^; probably a step higher than shaving in cost, but reletively painless (unless you're allergic)

I would say don't worry about it - your a guy and guys get hair (even around their butt). But if it really is annoying you shave it - but be prepared for a little itching afterwards.

The simplest option is just to clipper your body hair once or twice a week ("manscaping").

I usually discourage shaving because of the complications like razor rash and ingrown hairs. If there are areas that you want to be smooth, then waxing will accomplish the smooth look without the complications of shaving.

Shaving's good for most areas and completely painless unless razor cuts hurt you* (though more sensitive regions--esp armpits and erogenous zones--will itch horribly for a few days). Rates of regrowth after shaving vary, both by body region and person. You can find advice on the web about how to shave the genitals and butt. There is, of course, a risk of ingrown hairs, a risk that is also present, though less common, from waxing.

But, like Jamie, I would like to point out that being hairy isn't uncommon, and most guys have hair on our butts. Porn (which is where a lot of us get out ideas about how our bodies should look) tends to go for an extremely shaved look: most porn stars are not naturally that hairless, they wax.

*I don't notice razor cuts, but one of my friends thinks they hurt like Hell.

Just don't use it near sensitive areas. XD One of my friends learned that the hard way... From what I heard, it was a very uncomfortable and awkward trip to the emergency room.

Your friend was probably allergic - I've heard several people of both sexes using hair removal creams on their genitals with no problem whatsoever.

it works fine no pain.... put it on leave like 5 mins scrape of.... only problem i had was umm...a bit of private itchiness just overnight but that was fine

the only downside to the stuff is it smells awful and the smell stays on you for a few days ive found.

There is a lot of ways to get rid of haird, but is it really worth it? That and if you really are that hairy you are going to have to shave a lot xD I say just trim and keep it neat

I wish that laser surgery was you know affordable to normal human beings, hey that gives me n idea my cousin studies lasers at Cambridge... maybe we could borrow one or two... lol though Nair isn't that good if you want to get rid of hair pretty permanently because you need to put it on every fortnight or so and well it's expensive and comes in small tubs (I have used it yes... don't judge me)

I think if you want to get rid of it permanently you should go with laser or electrolysis. It's SO expensive, but ultimately in the end you save money from buying all that stuff to maintain it. As soon as I have enough money I'm going to do that.

Is there a reason why you want to get rid of your hair?
In my opinion, it's completely natural (especially for guys) to be hairy. And while there are people who prefer clean, shaven guys, there still other (such as me) who prefer the scruffy look on guys.

One of the misconceptions about laser is that it is permanent. It's not completely. A lot of the hair follicles will regenerate. A lot of hair follicles return to producing hair- it's just lighter in color and less thick. This is why it takes several very expensive laser treatments to remove body hair.

One thing that most people miss is that there are different strengths of depillatories. The strength that is usually on the store shelves is intended for legs. There is a lower strength for the "bikini area".

No matter which strength you use, you should always do a small trial area to see if you have a reaction before you apply it to large areas of your body.

I'm apparently part Wookiee, as I've got body hair everywhere. (Even on top of my toes.) This is how I deal with it.

I decided I was cool with it.
And if somebody isn't, there's the door.

It's easily the cheapest method. And I'd suggest it's the best, too.

Hair is part of the package - and it is usually hot! You've accepted your sexuality, now accept your manliness and embrace it!

It says on the Nair package not to use it on genital areas.

There's a special formulation for the "bikini area".

The Nair for Men formula is just for the back, chest, arms and legs. If you're going to use it, it's recommended that you do a test on a small area to see if your skin is going to react badly to the formula.
