A lot of girls in my year say they never masturbate. The guys ask them (and me), and I'm the only one brave enough to admit to it. Har har har. But I was wondering... are they lying, like I assume? I know girls can be real sad when it comes to sex and upholding their "femininity", etc etc bullshit. We've all seen how society teats sex and gender: Porn is a boys' toy. Oven mits are a girls. <3 :dry: I've read that it's healthy to masturbate... so why are girls afraid of themselves? SRSLY...? I will never understand the same sex. :icon_wink ...Oh, and how often does the average woman masturbate? (!)
There's a thread here with a poll dividedinto guys and girls, and of the 68 girls who replied, only two said they never masturbate. I think it's a lot easier to say something like that anonymously than to people you know.
Wow... I really should call it a night; when I read that the first thing I thought was "... is she suggesting girls masturbate with oven mitts? Sounds a bit counterproductive..." Ahem, on a more serious note, I'm agreeing with what Maddy pointed out; it's not so much that girls don't masturbate, its that they don't care to admit it.
I think many girls feel that if they admit that they take care of their own urges, that it takes away some of their femininity because mastrubation is mainly thought of something a man would do. Or, that they are weak for falling to their primitive urges or,"Giving in" But I feel that deep down all women have tried it at least. Maybe it wasn't for them but they have given them self pleasure whether they realize it or not.
