Well, in my last trip to the loo, there was blood. Bright, bit orangish.

What could be the causes, what should I do? (I'd rather not see a doctor if it's not that important)

    I'm 16, if that matters.

    Any help appreciated.

You should probably see a doctor.

    Did it hurt at all?
Have you been having any other problems with going to the bathroom?
Did you eat anything unusual or harder/sharper than normal?

No pain, though i'm having a bit just below my belly right now...

No other problems, this was completely random. And no odd food. Just my normal noodles really.

It could be just a small natural tear then, but I'm no professional... :/
KaraBulut will probably be by shortly, but I would go to the doctor if the pain gets more severe or the bleeding persists.

The pain doesn't seem to be getting worse, and it may go away overnight, but, I just really hope it isn't serious... i hate hospitals.

Now that i think of it, could it be caused by severe lack of water? I haven't been drinking much water in ages, rarely a cup a day.

Could this be causing it? Now that i've read a bit about it, it's the cause of a few other things off with me

I'm having a bunch of blood in my stools as well. Enough to turn all the water in the bowl reddish colored.

I just have a small tear.

Take fiber, it will soften your bowel movements and allow the tear to heal.

And lack of water won't cause you to bleed.

Orange? Blood isn't orange. I've only really heard it's "dark red." If it is orange and it is blood, I would infer that it is a small amount. Drink lots of water too it'll help soften your "stool" too in case it is a tiny tear that can heal on it's own. I'd see a doctor though just to make sure....

I said "orange-ish". As in, it's mostly red, but has a kinda orange tint to it. Not pure orange. Not even close.

Water would not have any effect on blood in the stool i don't think. Eating a little more fiber would make you a bit more regular, but I don't think that would have much of an effect on blood in the stool either.

Blood "in your business" is not an uncommon thing, although it can be scary when it happens...it can be anything from a tear (as has been mentioned) or a slight hemorrhoid...nothing to be overly concerned about and those correct themselves in a few days. However, if it is consistent over time, or if blood actually pools in the toilet then you need to seek a medical opinion by your doctor

Well, orangish-red blood means there isn't as much blood as if it were dark red, so LESS to worry about.

And, water would help make it pass easier. If you are dehydrated your large intestine absorbs more water (to conserve) making your stools harder.... I think. lol.

Actually, water would have an effect like that
You've only been having <1 cup/day!? You're meant to have like, 8 cups lol
That would make your stools harder - probably hard enough to cause a small tear.

Are you noticing the blood in your actual stools, or is it on the toilet paper when you wipe? (sorry for being graphic).

They're two very different thing, one is significantly worse than the other.

Blood in stool is not uncommon. What is significant is the color and the quantity of the blood.

In general, a small amount of bleeding that is bring red or pink indicates bleeding locally-usually from hemorrhoidal tissues around the anus. Most people will see this as blood on their toilet paper or somtimes as a pink color in the toilet paper. Usually a hemorrhoidal cream, increasing fiber in your diet and consuming adequate water with the fiber will reduce the inflammation around the area while your body heals.

If bright red bleeding persists more than 2-3 days, you should contact your doctor.

On the other hand, dark red blood or stools that have a tar-like appearance indicate a bleed much higher up in the digestive tract. These are not common and are a sign that you need to be seen by a doctor immediately.

It wasn't a lot, and was a lighter color, and seemed to be droplets in the water, not on the wipe, but I didn't know to check every wipe, because I didn't notice anything wrong.

But as it did not occur again this morning, so, if I understand correctly, it's not serious.

By the way, thanks for all the help guys. I get scared easily x_x
