I think this is possibly just a very simple question. I woke up two days ago with a bit of blocked sinuses and my throat kinda...u know phlegmy and feeling both wet but dry at the same time. Today I woke up though and my shoulders are kinda achy. I mean my neck feels fine so I think it's definitely not meningitis, but yeah like I'm fine if I'm fairly stationary, but if I'm moving around it can be a bit sore. The rest of me is fine, my lungs are fine, so yeah any ideas? I can't see a doctor at the moment because my family doctor is in another city and he's only available during the weekdays and I generally only am there on weekends sometimes. And far as I know the walk-in clinic at my university may be closed for the summer? I could be wrong though. But yeah, any ideas?

It's normal to feel aches whenever you get colds.(Did a term paper on the common cold XD)
I usually get a whole feeling of my entire body being sore but that all depends on a person to person basis.

yeah, whenever I get the flu I'm sore all over, the doctor told me your blood vessle constrict when you're sick and that causes stiffness and sore muscles

Pain associated with colds and flus vary a bit, but there are a few things to look out for.

Dull aches, stiffness and overall slight soreness is okay.

Sharp pain or pain caused by specific movements positions should be checked out.

Chest, shoulders, neck and head are pains commonly associated with colds.

If you're getting is anywhere bellow the chest it's likely you have a slightly nastier viral infection as opposed to the common cold strand.

Back pain, especially lower back should be an indicator that you need to see a docotor.

If pain is isolated only to the neck and doesn't affect shoulders or chest, also an indicator that one should visit a doctor ASAP.

In your case, it sounds like you're fine and have nothing to worry about.

Just keep hydrated, warm and rest!

Good possibility that you may have a micro-fracture in a rib, or you may have a really severe imbalance between your agonist and antagonist.

It's a pretty common thing in guys who have a regular actively that use bicep/lateral type muscles about the shoulder and upper back, but don't do much that uses the pectoral area muscles.

Try doing a few push-ups each morning and night for a few weeks and it might solve your problem.

Oh good, that'll explain why my legs feel a bit achy even though I haven't done any exercise recently.
