    I love my hair.
    I really do
    I love my hair
Cause they match my eyes of blue

I love to let it blow in the air,
I love to let it grow until it's down "there."
I love to play with it like a violin
I do it so much, I think it's a sin.

    I love my hair,
    I really do
    I love my hair
    Cu-Cu-cu-CHOO!

    ^2 minute Poem lol

But the sad thing is...it's really thin hair. And I also have a heavy case of baldness in the family. And I really don't want to loose it. Is there anyway to slow down balding?

Little at the moment to be done about balding. Yes there are a few drugs out there that seem to help some, but not all, regain some of the hair loss, then of course are hair transplants. Unfortunately the genes from the mother's side of the family affect balding the most in male offspring.

Balding is a HUGE deal in Japan...somehow. And we have pretty good technique to save hair and gain hair or just cover the balding part with latest wig called "Hair contact" tho unfortunately it's only available in Japan but I'm sure when you really need it, it's already available in everywhere.

But you might not bald in the future unlike your other family member:slight_smile:

hehe, i'm practically going through the same thing! XP My dad's side of the family...one of a few things i inherited from him...>.> well, just don't fret about it. and stress, btw, also causes hair balding, so the more you stress about it, higher chance it makes it happen

Gosh... I can relate to this concern too. :icon_sad:

I noticed my hair starting to thin when I was in my late teens!!! Horrifying indeed!

I actually tried using Rogain for a while -but it was a real pain to use, and it was REALLY expensive, and I figured it was only delaying the inevitable anyway. So I've had to simply accept it.

And I've taken to wearing baseball caps.

There's this prescription drug called propecia that was originally meant, I believe, to treat prostate cancer and other prostate abnormalities, which it does by lowering the concentration of a particular male hormone (or, as it turns out I found out on the Internet, an androgen). Anyway, turns out male pattern baldness (the most common kind) works like so: as guys get older, for the people who are genetically predisposed to mp baldness, this hormone triggers hair follicles to shutdown. So naturally taking propecia, which reduces the amount of this hormone in your body, slows, stops, and ultimately reverses balding, because the follicles not only stop shutting down, some of them reactivate.

My friend was taking it for a while and said it was amazingly effective. He didn't regain all his lost hair but he had substantial hair growth. However, as with most drugs that screw with your hormones, there are side effects. With him I believe it was one of nipples started enlarging. I don't think it was particularly noticeable or anything but he figured it was probably better to just let his body be and stopped taking the propecia. And that was a side effect supposedly like than 1% of people experience.

Anyway, I understand how the thought of balding can be really distressing. I've been really lucky so far but a good friend of mine started going bald in his early 20s and it was really hard on him.

I look like I'm balding because both my parents have rather high foreheads, which combined in me to form a small landing strip on my head. Luckily I didn't inherit the family baldness, because both my grandfathers had started to go bald on the back of their heads by the time they were my age.

I'm starting to go bald, but don't really care, I have far many more things to worry about. The weird thing is there is neither of my parents have baldness in the family, and only my twin brother has it out of my siblings. You could say it was caused by stress but my brother is less stressed than anyone I know
