It seems like lesbians aren't particularly fond of using protection when sleeping together (correct me if I'm wrong), so I'm wondering if STDs are common. I know you hear a lot about certain STDs amongst gay men. Can women transmit HPV to one another? What others are common? Why isn't protection used? It is just because it's inconvenient/weird?

Actually, this was something I kind of always wondered about myself before I joined EC. The site actually has this really informative page here Empty Closets - Lesbian Sex that actually details & explains safe lesbian sex, which I didnt even know existed until I joined EC. I think the fact that mainstream media, not to mention the ridiculous amounts of porn out there, have led society as a whole to believe that lesbians dont have safe sex, when in fact, they do. Hope the link helps a bit... (*hug*)
