I am very light, and I should put more weight on. But I don't like eating. Even when I am hungry I will ignore it so I don't eat. It's really messing me up. I know I need to put weight on, but I don't want to. Help please?

I did some online tests today and I think it's anorexia.

If you think you have an eating problem then you should share your concerns with your doctor. If you feel uncomfortable about it don't tell your parents that you're going but I really think it would be a good idea for you to do it.

I won't tell my parents. They are VERY oppininated. I'll tell my counsellor tomorow.

You should definitely talk to a doctor or counselor. It sounds like you may be right with your concern about anorexia, but the fact that you are realizing it is a problem and are willing to talk about it is a good sign.

Make sure you treat online tests with a pinch of salt! Anorexia is a very serious and complex illness, a world away from just not liking to eat. That's why you should be seeking out medical help and assurance. Nobody on here or on the internet, least of all an online test, will be reliable enough. Good luck speaking to the professionals!

It's not that I don't like to eat, it's that eating makes you put on weight.

Please talk to a medical professional about this. It may be nothing but then again it could be very serious.

I suffered this a few months ago and recovered a few months ago. I went from a healthy 138 pounds to 97 pounds at 5'6 in a few months...Soo..I was sick pretty much. You might have anorexia or are your way into getting it, I wish you the best of luck. It's not easy.

It's good your noticing that you might be engaging in some unhealthy behaviors. The best thing to do is, as you already said, alert a professional skilled in these areas. Eating Disorders, which you may or may not have, are extremely challenging to treat. Therefore, when you talk to your counselor, and if they suspect that you have an Eating Disorder, I really would recommend that you attempt to see a Counselor/Therapist/Psychiatrst/Psychologist/Social Worker (whatever) that specializes in eating disorders. Obviously, this depends on whether or not such a mental health specialist lives near you.

Anyway, as I already said, it's good to be aware of any problem you might be having in life, especially a problem like this. Glad you caught it and I hope you address it early.
