Porn doesn't reflect reality of sex or your orientation. People who have porn addiction but are straight regularly report watching gay porn and trans/intersex porn.

I understand what this article is trying to say or prove but it isn't a very strong argument or theory. They seem to be only focused on reversing the gay in men, they do not speak about women or about gay guys convincing themselves they are straight or about those people who have never masturbated to porn and yet know their own sexuality.

Then there are the comments about fear and anxiety getting you aroused, I don't know about anyone else but I've never had a "oh shit im going to die...*pops boner*..uh ok?" moment, have you?

From someone who suffers from server anxiety, its not a great aphrodisiac and is quite the mood killer.

Because they report being straight. I watch BDSM porn sometimes. That doesn't mean I'm into domination or any of the other kinks there. How do I know? Because that's what I am reporting.

Porn is not real, and your interests in porn are not necessarily a good reflection of your sexual orientation. Sexual orientation is about who you want to actually be with in real life, not who you like to look at in porn.

That article did not suggest that being gay was generally reversible. It rather suggested that straight people with sex or porn addictions sometimes end up being desensitized to the things that would normally arouse them, and then they branch out into stuff that is not really natural to them, including gay stuff. When they stop having orgasms for a while, their natural arousal patterns return--they are able to be aroused again by the things that normally arouse them.

Presumably, the same thing could happen to a gay person with sex or porn addiction, but with some other kind of porn.

The article does not claim that abstaining from orgasm, or anything else, can alter someone's underlying innate orientation.

Incidentally, I think that a lot of studies about sexuality are suspect, because they rely too much on people's responses to porn. I think studying people's responses to porn only tells you about their responses to porn, it doesn't tell you about their sexual orientation regarding actual human beings in real life.

yea.. it states that like people go on from looking at straight porn into gay, etc.
I think its safe to say if you have always liked gay porn, and men in person, then youre gay.
