This section can be used for any health related questions or concerns. It is not limited to just sexual health.

Perhaps you have some symptoms and are wondering whether you should go to the doctor, just get some medication from the drug store, or leave it to go away on its own. Maybe you have booked a doctor's appointment but are wondering what tests they might do, questions they might ask, what they might say the problem is etc.

Perhaps you are wondering how your doctor might react to learning that you are gay/lesbian/whatever, or are wondering whether you need to tell him/her for the problem you are seeing him/her about. Maybe your doctor has not reacted very favourably and you want to know how to find a better one.

Maybe you have been told what the condition is and have been given some medication for it, but you want to know more about the condition and/or what the medication does. Maybe a friend or family member has been diagnosed with something and you want to know more about the condition and treatment.

Perhaps you are trying to lose weight and want some advice on diet and exercise?

These are just some ideas - any health related subject is welcome here.

Sounds reasonable. It's not just an "ask the doctor" area - any chat relating to health and fitness etc is fine here.

I have been moving some relevant threads from other sections to here - which is why you are seeing a few older threads appearing....

Even though it is a helpful area I think people need to know that they can't use it for every medical concern. I dono though, sum ppl probably already know that tho

You can post any medical concerns you have here, it doesn't matter what it is. We can't guarantee you'll get an answer though, however JayHew does respond to a lot of them.

Clearly though some things need to be dealt with by a doctor or hospital, so for anything urgent or serious you obviously go there straight away. If you had a broken arm or were coughing up blood for example, you'd go straight to the doctor or hospital.

A forum is no substitute for your doctor, who can actually examine you, assess all the symptoms and do any required tests. On here we only have what you say, which is only part of what a doctor uses for his/her diagnosis.

It can help to give you some indication of what it could be, whether or not it's likely to be serious, whether you should go to the doctor straight away or give it a few days and see what happens, etc.
