how to stop masturbating, or at least calm down?

    i think about sex and get turned on so easy.
    i want to not so much, other than drastic crazy stuff like meds, i don't want that, how can i stop thinking about sex, masurbating, and getting turned on by people i see?

    Once you start growing older, your body will naturally adapt to these new hormones being produced. In the meantime it can help to masturbate to get rid of sexual tension so long as you don't let it take control of your normal activities.

    I don't know many people that can stop their feelings by people they see.. its just natural. Stopping with masturbating can be done if you occupy yourself with something else to do, everytime you have that "urge" then do something else.

    I think masturbating is quite easy to be stopped... what isn't as much is the urge to do the deed.

    Try to resist the want to masturbate.
    I try eating to stop my urges, although if nobody's around.. I slap out the sausage..

    Pick up other things that distract you from the activity. That's what I did. For me, it was exercising and meditation.

    Why do you want to stop? It's healthy.

    I think you only need to worry if it's to the extent of taking precedence over work or school or whatever.

    I could be way off here, but is your desire to stop masturbating a result of your gender dysphoria? If so, I don't think you really need to feel any reason for conflict between your ideal gender and masturbating. Its normal, everybody does it, and its purely a cause of hormones and the way the human brain is wired.

    My suggestion is that instead of trying to quit, you shouldn't worry so much about it.

    I understand what you mean; having the highest libido is an everyday torture. I can't even tell you that the torture will end... because it may not.

    You might not find it so bad if you're in couple with somebody you love though.

    Maybe something to think about is: why do you feel the need to cut back on masturbation? Are your thoughts/actions interfering with your relationships, happiness, physical well-being, or daily life in any way? If the answer is yes, you might simply occupy yourself with other things. Go for a walk, play video games, or whatever you like to do. If masturbating isn't damaging you body, hurting your relationships, causing you distress, or keeping you from living happily, then I'd say you have nothing to worry about :slight_smile:

    Okay, when you masturbate, what do you think about? Think about your ideal person, and then think about the opposite.

    .... but seriously, don't force yourself to calm down if it isn't negatively affecting your daily routines or other people. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. But if you're really adamant about it, I would find a new hobby or something else to preoccupy your time. Every time you feel like masturbating, try exercising or taking a walk or anything you think of really. I spend my time with school work.... That usually kills all my desire LOL

    Why would you? Completely healthy.
    I say stop masturbating to porn, and instead use your imagination. Also, learn to masturbate in different places and positions :wink:

    Unless its interfering with work/school/life, don't sweat it...

    Otherwise the urge is easy enough to suppress. You'll find out soon enough that other thought can kill the mood.

    When the urge comes and you aren't "in the mood" to be " in the mood," think of something or someone to spoil the mood. ie. jerry seinfeld, roseanne barr, imagine they have bad breathe, funky smell, runny nose and dandruff....

    I am replying very late to my thread but yeah...it interfers cuz i do it for stress relief, and when i wake up sometimes, even 3 times a day. so i am hoping i get therapy that suggests alternatives. i start tuesday. :slight_smile: wish he was a GID therapist not student intern.
