Sneezing when I think of something slightly perverted?

Weird. This has been happening to me as well when thinking of something sexual or arousing, though only on occasion and I've no idea why. :\

This actually came up in a podcast that I listen to (Dan Savage's actually), and apparently, there's actually the same tissue in our noses that's also in our genitals that cause erections. So when you're thinking sexual thoughts, those tissues in your nose inflate a bit and can cause sneezing! Hope this helps

There are many theories, with evidence thrown around for and against all of them.

The most commonly believed two are:

That, as mentioned above; there is a tissue 'dilation' phenomenon around the nose when aroused which causes sneezing and other sinus agitation. It is common for people to report thin mucus (watery runny nose) symptoms when aroused as well.

Secondly, there is also common belief that it's the result of the nervous system doing funny things. It has been frequently suggested that it is genetic and that a similar reaction can occur during moments of nervousness or anxiety.

The human body is so weird and complicated!

I wonder if a drug for that would cause impotence...

I was wondering about this recently, actually. I realize this thread is really old, but I did a search online and ec came up, what do you know.
