There's a blood drive coming up and I want to give blood since I've never had sex but I'm worried about this ingrown toe I've had for a while. It's been infected for a while and it goes up and down as far as severity. Do you think this will be a big deal? I know they're really careful with this stuff but I don't know if my infection is that strong.
They probably will not care. Give that blood hun! people need it! Annd, if their is something in your blood (probably a really small chance) then they won't use it. They test your blood first before using it ya know? I guess you could mention it if you feel that strongly inclined to do so...

Definitely go. Just like they won't turn you down for having an acne outbreak (another localized infection). The only reason I stopped giving blood was after attempting to donate about 10 seperate times, they could only fill about half the bag from my veins. (and they tried hard. At least locally, they're always looking for AB+)
Well, they don't accept blood from men who have sex with men...being a gay man doesn't necessarily mean you've actually had sex with men...
Agreed. It would be a lot more serious if it got into your blood. Donating blood should be ok You can always ask them if you're unsure and they will tell you. I wish I could donate blood.
