So for much of my life I have been trying to lose weight. I gained some weight when I went to a summer school for arts program in 2009 and have never been able to lose it. I have worked out with my schools health program, which included intense circuit training and cardio classes 3 times a week with pilates on my own. I focused on eating my food groups and staying nutritious while watching my calories, while not eating too little. I followed a niatritions instructions ver batum and lost no weight. I had m doctor check my thyroid- and im fine. Years of this has led me to lose heart and give up. I am truly unhappy with myself and its causing an incredible depression. I feel ugly and am constantly self conscious, so much I am afraid to introduce my best friend, who does the EXACT SAME PROGRAM as me and has lost tons of weight and is super fine, whilie i feel like a potato. I feel so beat down and downtrodden. Does anyone have any tips that my doctor wasn't able to give me? Honestly i'm on my last thread of hope here. :tears:
I looked at your album and you look gorgeous, so you shouldn't be too critical of yourself. I know that compliments weren't what you were looking for, but they don't hurt! (And I'm not just saying it, you really do look nice) It may seem like a stupid question but what do you drink? Drink is often overlooked (you didn't mention it), but it's also one of the easiest things to change, and from personal experience it had a pretty big impact on me when I switched to water about five years ago.
I have never drank soda because the carbonation makes me sick. I drink water or tea, after going to japan green tea grew on me. I also drink frozen juice every once in a while.
Is the green tea just water and tea leaves? I've looked at the back of some of the bottled green tea 'drinks' (I'm not sure what they actually call themselves) and they are just as bad as sodas. If it's tea you make yourself, do you add any sugar or honey or other sweetener to it? If you're having them a lot then even a small amount adds up quite quickly. Were you doing the exercise and diet plan at the same time? How long were you doing them for, and are you still doing them now? Have you gained weight or are you staying at the same level?
I have stayed at the same level, but gained a small amount when I had to break my eating plans while studying abroad. I didn't eat badly, and walked a ton but I dont know. I was doing my exercise with the eating plan (it was a nutrition/exercise joint program) for ten weeks and continued that for another two months afterwards on my own, and after that I left the country. And it's just bagged green tea, unsweet and plain. But I don't drink it that often, its mainly water.
You are not even close to ugly! You matter! Do you FEEL good? Like, that's what matters with weight loss. If you are healthy and your doctor says you are healthy, then you can live with what you have. If there's a problem, then fix it. Anything is possible.
Hey, you shouldn't feel bad (*hug*), you are really pretty. Weight is easy to fix. And I mean easy as something that can be done by anyone, not that it doesn't require discipline and willingness. It's difficult from here to arrive at any conclusion as to why you haven't lost any weight. My best advice would be to look for a trainer that can help you to lose that weight that's making you feel uncomfortable. I know that you are looking for tips, so let me ask you: In the past two months, have you been doing any exercise? How much time do you spend exercising? What foods do you normally eat? Do you ocassionally eat at fast foods restaurants? Do you eat foods high in carbs, like pasta, pizza, ice cream, etc? Have you ever compensated exercising with overeating? I mean like eating a little more after having exercised, like feeling you can eat a little more because you have exercised that day. I know this are a lot of questions, but I need to get a picture of your everyday life in order to give you any tip. Also, add anything that you might find relevant.
Take raspberry ketones they help burn fat like crazy doctor oz recommended it also but it doesn't look like you need to lose weigh. There is a difference in being healthy and being unhealthy and to skinny. You look great just keep being healthy! ---------- Post added 28th Feb 2013 at 10:35 PM ---------- If you have stayed I hate to say this but you need to workout harder then like push more and change your routine up. That's the only way. You can do a 900 cal diet for a few weeks not permanently its aghast way to lose fat becuase your body will need to burn fat to keep going
Thanks for all the support you guys C: And no, I DONT feel good. I'm constantly self conscious and it stops me from doing things I love, and meeting people. @TheDude (by the way I am the biggest lebowski fan you have no idea) But the program was like, intense circuit training once or twice a week. My friend was doing it with me, and he is in great shape, and even he got sick afterwards once! They were so intense but the trainer was great. And cycling classes 2-3 times a week with pilates at home. I dont drink sodas or eat a lot of fast foods. I focus on eating my food groups, I try to eat a lot of fruits, mostly apples, bananas, oranges and berries when I can. I eat a lot of kale and romane lettuce, and rice cakes for treats. And I love yogurt, I'm a little lactose intolerant and its the only dairy I can stomache. I forgot your other questions >.< My problem is that I have done all the things, tried the hardest, for years now. I used to work out at the gym one summer (four months at my university) for two hours four times a week. I got addicted to working out and still lost no weight.
I would also suggest having your doctor check your thyroid levels. I had hyperthyroidsm and i lost ALOT of weight very very fast and its dangerious and the opposite is hypothyroidism which i now have. If i dont take my meds i would gain a bunch of weight o: you may not have either of these but its always a good thing to check. The doctors over looked my symtoms untill a nurse asked for them to check because its not common in teens or young adults.
My mom has had problem with her thyroid too, and it's in my family. A couple of summers ago I worked my ass off and nothing, and when I told my doctor he had my thyroid checked, my no problems :C i almost wish it was a problem so that I could take medicine and be able to loose weight.
I don't know if anyone suggested this but I think you should try another doctor perhaps a health and nutrition specialist to get a second opinion. I know sometimes we can feel attached to the doctors we've been going to for years but It can't hurt to try. BTW you are beautiful.
