hey everyone! I'm 18 and my whole life, I've been kinda boy crazy. But recently, I've been wondering if that was just because I was trying to be like my older sister who I really look up to. I've had some genuine crushes on guys, but in the past few months, I've been really noticing that I've been having feelings for some girls, specifically one who was in my class. We went on our class trip and I saw her in a bikini and almost couldn't keep my hands off her. I just don't really know whether my feelings for guys or my feelings for girls are true... I'm so confused and I can't talk to any of my friends or family about it because they're all really strict Christians. So any advice or thoughts would really be appreciated. ~Mandy
I think you should let your mind think about what makes it happy - allow yourself to fantasise, whether it's sexual, emotional, whatever. This might sound weird, but maybe try watching some porn and see what you like XD I can understand it can be hard wondering just what you are when you have some feelings from both genders, especially when you've felt like one gender was what your brain wants or you've become comfortable with liking one or the other. The last thing to do, IMO, is to label yourself too quickly - try your best to relax and see how you feel around men and women. Think about this though: if you are indeed attracted to both sexes, you're getting to appreciate twice as much beauty! Focus on the positives and you'll feel so much better and confident about yourself and your sexual orientation, whatever it boils down to.
