I'm lesbian though I pass of as straight 99% of times. However, the remaining 1%, I get stared at by women. Married, with kids, around their husbands..it doesn't matter. I'm not sure whether they sense I'm gay or if they are gay and responding to signals I'm sending. Its happened so many times, but I still cannot fathom what's going on. Women will buy me drinks at straight bars, they will light my cigarette, offer to walk me home, all kinds of things, all while their husbands or family wait. Has anyone else had this happen?

You're probably just very charming. I know one or two gay girls who I thought were straight, and girls absolutely love them. You say you usually pass as straight, which probably means that they consider you to pass as "just one of the girls" but have a way of talking to women that makes them like you a lot, as a few lesbians do. Back when I had a preference for women, I felt like girls loved me, and I'm sure it was because I just enjoyed being around girls and it was obvious, and the girls just responded to my friendliness with enthusiasm. This even happened with random girls and women that I didn't know, so maybe you just give off lady-welcoming vibes
