hey everyone, just joined this site and reading some of other people's posts has been very helpful. Thanks! I am a 22 year old guy, and am questioning my sexual orientation. Lately I have been thinking that I might be attracted to men. Its kind of a strange attraction... I dont feel any sexual urges but I do notice and appreciate a good looking guy. Having said that, I am physically attracted to girls, but I dont feel like I get along with them. Any opinions/feedback? sincerely, ASM
Well, its different for everyone, and it took me a while to figure it out, but the way I realized I was gay was that whenever I fantasized, it was prettimuch only guys. I mean, sure, girls were pretty, but guys were what I was always interested in. Only you can know for sure what your sexuality is, but if its male fantasies the majority of the time, that's a pretty big indicator.
We could delve into the whole homosexual/heteroromantic and vice versa stuff, but I think you might benefit more from first realizing your sexual orientation. A great way to discern your orientation that I've learned about from browsing EC is to masterbate without porn. Only using your imagination, what thoughts stimulate the most. Imagine all parts of sex with a guy, imagine all parts of sex with a girl, and see how each makes you feel. I'd say you're bisexual, but you just said that you notice attractive guys and have no sexual desires. It's normal for straight men to notice 'attractive' guys because well, they're your competition (in the whole scheme of things). Doing the above test may point you more in the right direction. Tj- I tried your test... At least kind of. I started reading a story about lesbians that got me pretty turned on. Then I tried to imagine having sex with my guy friend and didn't mind it that much. That was the first time that I have ever tried thinking about that. When I switched back to straight porn before I was finished in my mind I couldn't get back into it because I kept thinking about the other scenario ( I'm doubly confused because I have OCD and anxiety issues so sometimes things come into my head and I can't help getting stuck on those thoughts.
