I understand that a lot of people don't like the 'labels' that are in our community, but I'm just curious about what people deem as 'femme' or 'butch' when referring to lesbians, bi girls, etc.

    What makes a lady femme/butch?
Which are you, femme, butch or inbetween?

Thanks in advance to your opinions, hope I didn't offend anyone! (!)

I'm neither. People who know me consider me a "lipstick lesbian" but I don't think I'm girly enough to use that label.

I like "tomboy femme" but I don't like how it implies that I'm attracted to butches, when I'm really attracted to other tomboy femmes. There aren't any perfect labels for me... :astonished:

I'm not a lesbian but I tend to be thought to be a butch.

I think I can somewhat be considered a "lipstick pansexual". I'm not "butch" and I don't do any thing or dress like that can make me seem masculine.

I'm bi and I consider myself a femme who's partial to other femmes. I'm pretty girly, I have long hair, like anything cute, flowery or colorful, etc.

Tomboy bi; I think I look gayer than I feel, whatever that means.

    I'm a lipstick lesbian .
what makes me think so is I dress girly , wear make up not all the time but most of the time time I wear skirts sometimes but mostly pants people often tell me I'm way too femme . When I come out as a lesbian people don't believe it because they say i don't give the vibe or I'm way to girly so I call myself a lipstick lesbian . for those reason and think of myself as such

I'm very femme though I hardly wear any makeup (prefer a more natural look). I don't wear heels, I occasionally wear skirts. I love the colour pink.

I think I'm more femme, but I don't wear skirts or dresses due to body issues. I like girly colours, baking, wearing makeup, wear lots of delicate jewellery, highish heels, etc.

Lipstick, considering I wear skirts/dresses 70% of the time, own like a dozen different shades of lipstick and am mainly attracted to equally feminine girls.

This describes me. I'm a lipstick lesbian attracted to the same. Even though personality wise, I have some stereotypically male interests and hobbies (cars, motorcycles, guns, etc) but I also have femme hobbies (fashion, makeup artistry, etc). So really I think femme describes me in presentation despite that my interests are across the board.

I label myself as a femme because I am feminine in the way I dress, act and talk.. even my posture is feminine. I am attracted to other femmes though.. I read recently that a femme might mean a feminine woman attracted to butch women? Not really me but to each their own I guess

    Chapstick.

I don't care much about my looks, I just wear whatever I feel like wearing. I have some traits that could be seen as girly, but that's not my intention. (For example, I have super long hair, but only because I have some weird attachment to it, and I wear skirts and dresses a lot, but only because they're comfy.) I feel at my best wearing only slightly feminine clothes or gender neutral clothes. I don't try to look masculine or feminine, and I would be offended if anyone told me I was girly or boyish.
