Does anyone else hate the label Gold Sar Gays? That being a Gay guy who has never had sex or a relationship with the opposite sex. I fully identify as gay. But I have fellow gays as we'll as straight people calling me bi becuz I was at one point attracted to girls and had sex with one.as of now I only see myself with guys now. And now I have self proclaimed "Gold Star Gays" who think their superior to me...it just makes me feel like I'm supposedly less gay than them?

I agree. It's a way to feel superior and more "pure" than other gay people.

Is this maybe a regional thing? I've been out and about for over twenty years and I have honestly never encountered this. I was fairly active with women before I realized I was gay--I've actually been with more women than quite a few of my straight male friends. People think that in particular is kinda funny, but I've never encountered anything like prejudice because of it.

I've actually never heard the term in relation to gay men. I also don't understand the superiority complex either. Some people don't realize their true orientation until later in life. Nothing wrong with that. It doesn't make them less gay or lesbian.

I know the term, but maybe it's a regional thing? I don't remember where I picked it up, but it doesn't seem to common in Canada?

Anyways, I encountered this "prejudice" during a date I was on. The guy thought it was gross I had been with a girl before. I really don't understand why it would matter. It's like being an NHL hockey player and saying you've tried golf.

The vast majority of gay guys I've spoken to are fine with it, and some "gold stars" are even intrigued by it "what's it like being with a woman?"

I know the term from tv and movies. I've never heard anyone in my daily life use it but then again I'm not a part of a community either.

I've only heard of it on tv too, and I think it's ridiculous. However, I'm curious... If a transguy like me has only been with men before, but as a woman, and then I transition and am still with only men, is THAT gold star???? *scratches head*

LOL! Um... I think you hurt my brain! If you identify as male and have only been with men then... Yes. I think:slight_smile:

As for me, I'm a future gold star.

What's it called when a person feels the need to label everything and everyone? Shouldn't we create a label for that?

I'm honestly not that bothered by it, I just think it's stupid and unnecessary.

    This was basically my reaction:

As long as we call them out on their shit the name we give them doesn't matter.
But "Label-Whore" sound quite fitting and I have no idea what "Dymos" mean.

I don't think it's the label so much as it's the reason behind it. Yes, I've heard of it; I'm pretty sure it's been used here for orientation as well by someone.

I mean what the hell do they think will happen? That a gay who has slept with a woman has some collection of magical vagina dust that they've collected with their winky, in order to go around using this as some undetectable dry lube and insert it into other ' gold stars', thereby ridding them of their 'gold star' status?

Do they think this just will turn them bisexual/bicurious? I mean that only makes sense. These are likely the among the same homosexuals who are repulsed by/terrified of vajayjays. They may be scared that they would actually like pukanakas because the tainted air particles will infect them and induce that horrific side-effect.

What they don't realize is that many of the male side of the species have probably touched something that has pussy glitter left over from others who have done such an act, therefore they are already slowing transforming.

I'm sorry to inform you all...this is eventually going to be the cause of a world of bisexuals, maybe even pansexuals if the side-effects worsen beyond normal. It'll be like a zombie apocalypse, only with orgies abound. Who can be sure?

I feel for everyone...because I will be watching from the safety of my ace softroom.

P.S. There is no hidden message or anything...

Argh...yeah I am not a fan of these labels. Technically I am a gold-star lesbian and there is nothing wrong with the fact I never been sexual with a man however I don't like a hierarchal arrangement of that. I think it is common for many LGBT folks to have many different sexual experiences, we should not look down on people for this. We should treat each other equally.

People use it to prove they are a 'better' gay than I am. Whatever. It's frankly sad, but yes I have heard it used here in the Midwest. I had one girls tell me she would never date a Bigirl because she was goldstar, even though I didn't identify as Bi but Queer. It's for pure snobbery.

Yeah, I find it pretty silly as well.
