What is the most accurate, most widely accepted and respected, definition for asexuality? It seems - from what I see everywhere - that there is a split consensus on the matter.

You have places like AVEN, which pick apart all the little nuances (e.g. grey asexual, different romantic orientations separated from sexual orientations, and so on) yet I don't think they are enough to give an official statement on the matter... seems to be mostly anecdotal/personal opinions sort of thing.

So, what would the most concise and "proper" definition be?

The official, proper, scientific definition is a person who experiences absolutely no sexual attraction or arousal.

The more 'queer theory' definition simply defines it as a person who experiences no sexual attraction.

Personally I think asexuality refers to someone who doesn't experience sexual attraction towards anyone.

A person who doesn't experience sexual attraction to other people. That's it.

Asexuality is when you don't experience sexual attraction towards anyone. It has nothing to do with arousal (take this from an actual asexual). Many of us can experience arousal, and many of us do enjoy sex. It works the opposite way as well, in which we might not experience arousal and we might not enjoy sex (which is what I am, I'm sex-repulsed).
