I believe I may be a 5 on the Kinsey Scale (incidental heterosexual behavior) and I'm not really sure how to label myself. Labels aren't a huge deal for me but I guess I'd like to know how others that fall in the middle of the Kinsey scale identify themselves. Thanks!

Kinsey 5 is associated with what they call 'homoflexible' . again don't dwell too much into tests , think of whom you want to end up in life and choose a label appropriately

Thanks, I was actually thinking 'homoflexible'. Yeah, I try not to focus too much on labels and tests.

I'm a 3 and OK works for me. I'm sick of the label thing. DNA and a fingerprint are individually unique and so is the individual mind. I knew from very young and through life that I didn't care. My closeness was with the person and the sexuality shared between was equally Wow! Follow your mind and feelings and make sure your happy!

I'm probably about a 5, but I can't really see myself dating/whatever else with a girl again, so I go with gay.

Kinsey-4 ...hmmm, does that make me biflexible? Bi-inflexible? LesBIan? Come on, surely the world could use some more labels.

Don't put too much stock in Kinsey. In the end, you just need to pick a label you're comfortable with.

I'm a 5, but I won't be dating a girl again, only guys. Therefore, I'm out as gay.

I get 3 which makes sense I suppose.

Has anyone looked at any other tests, btw? I've done the Kleins grid and the Storms scale. Kleins grid (Southampton Directory*|*Klein Sexual Orientation Grid Quiz) gives me a rather large range of values with an average more on the hetero side, and the Storms scale (Southampton Directory*|*Multidimensional Scale of Sexuality Quiz) gives me the label "past heterosexual, current homosexual" which I think is a bit too cut and dry, since I am still sexually attracted to men although my interest in them has dropped significantly since I have started embracing my girl-loving side. I quite liked the Storm Scale despite that because it seemed to have the most insightful questions.

The Kinsey Scale was a good starting off point, for me. It's easy to reference to people who don't get that sexuality is a spectrum, so much. However, the further I've come, the less helpful the Scale seems. It works off a gender binary and doesn't really account for trans and non-binary folk so much. For instance, if you're a cis male and in a relationship with a transwoman, does that affect your Kinsey score, and if so, how? From what I've seen, the Kinsey Scale treats that as a "homosexual experience". So, the scale, while a helpful starting point, is not really the best authority to gauge your sexual identity. If you're going to use it at all, use it as a starting point, not as a definitive point.

I feel like the Kinsey Test is slightly outdated and unreliable so I've taken the Klein Sexuality Test a couple of times in the past few months. It uses roughly the same scale as Kinsey but it takes past, present and ideal preferences into account and goes up to 7 instead of 6.

Interesting thing is that when I took it about half a year ago I scored a 3.5 (gay, more than incidentally hetero) but I took it a couple of weeks ago and scored a 4.5 (gay, incidentally hetero). Does this mean the test isn't reliable or can results change depending on your mindset/fluidity? Interesting thing to ponder.

I'm a 2. When I did the Klein test I got 2.7. I crush on guys (at this point in my life) but I feel like I have the potential to be in love with a woman (because I have been before, and never with a man). I have slid up and down the scale my whole life. I do think Kinsey is outdated. There's some articles online explaining why sexuality can't or shouldn't be explained by one spectrum. One of the reasons being that the kinsey scale is based on behavior, and we all know behavior doesn't always correlate with sexual or romantic attraction.

Yeah, when they asked behaviour questions in these tests it really annoys me. I have nothing to say because not only am I a virgin but ive never even kissed anyone or been on a date or anything. I have no behaviour to talk about, that doesn't mean I'm asexual or aromantic or anything like that. Not that these tests often can deal with ace identities anyway.

Took the test, I got a 4. I don't think the test is very accurate (I know it's not an official test). I believe I'm a 5 and I guess that's what matters.
