I think yes, but only if you are genuinely interested in that person. I think it's unfair to use them purely for experimentle purposes as that happened to me once and it was a horrible experience.
Sure, as long as you let them know from the start. On a similar note, I don't know if I'm cis or trans, so I'm presenting female at my local LGBT group's events to determine how I like being that way. Nothing like actually trying something to see if it works.
