Not sure where to post this, so I posted here. Sorry if it's in the wrong forum. This question is more geared towards men, but anybody is welcome to answer.

I know I'm gay since I'm attracted to the male physique and there's nothing about the woman's body that I find sexually attractive (sorry ladies ). However, I'm confused on the whole concept of becoming aroused (getting an erection) from watching porn.

Is it possible to get an erection solely from the sexual acts that are being performed and not the actual actors themselves? For example, does getting an erection from what you're watching also indicate that you are sexually attracted to the person on video? There's some vids where the actors aren't attractive, in my opinion, but I still find myself getting aroused and I think it's from what the actors are doing. Just like some clarification on this plz!

I would say yes. When we talk about sexual preference we often focus on our sexuality, but sexual preference often goes beyond our orientation and attraction to individuals and may include specific sexual positions, roles, kinks and fetishes. If you are turned on by something in particular, porn may cater to your tastes and offer a form of visual stimulation that is arousing to you.

Porn is basically engineered to be arousing to men (less so to women.) Men, to at least some extent, are hardwired to be aroused by visual stimulation and so seeing the act, and not necessarily the person doing it, can be arousing.

I can get turned on or get an erection just be hearing my neighbors having loud sex and yet there I don't see who they are and what they are actually doing. So I think that having an erection does not really tell you much about your orientation.
