I am a lesbian that identifies as a homoromantic bisexual (confusing, I know) mainly because I am attracted to women both emotionally and sexually, but i do find the occasional man physically attractive, but never enough to engage with them sexually. Not too sure about the Bi"sexual" part of it all where I would never engage sexually with a man.... Is there a better way to identify myself? Should I identify as a Lesbian, Homoromantic Bisexual, or something else all together? Just looking for opinions!
Hi GayPanda. I'm so sorry that finding a label is stressing you out. I know that EVENTUALLY you will figure yourself out. Just know that you don't have to have all the answers TODAY. In the meantime, just relax. Instead of stressing out over labels, try to enjoy being YOURSELF for TODAY. Hope that helped. (*hug*)
Well, beautiful things are beautiful things.. I think you can find some men attractive while still being lesbian. It's more like could you have sex with a man or imagine a future with a man. But you have all the time you need to figure this out. If you sometime go to a date or two with a man you probably see pretty quickly if it feels natural or not. So don't think about labels right now, think about what feels good and natural for you.
I think you can identify as lesbian and drop homoromantic bisexual. Because you find men physically attractive, but not enough to engage with them sexually, you are not bisexual. There would need to be some sexual attraction to men. Similarly, many gay men appreciate beautiful women, but not enough to engage with them sexually. It appears you can appreciate attractive men as well without any interest in them sexually. So I think lesbian is the way to identify.
