    Questioning
A few questions came up today regarding sexuality.

    1) Can mirror neuron action lead to an illusion of/homosexuality? What I mean is, is it possible that a female thinking of another female in a sexual situation could become aroused because she is placing herself in the spot of the second female, and sort of vicariously feeling what the second female feels? And would this be considered homosexuality, or the illusion thereof?

    2) If I'm a female who has never encountered a dick irl, but is not even slightly aroused by the idea of/image of one, does this determine my sexuality? Is there room for me to ever appreciate dicks, like upon actually encountering one?

Yeah my experience being Questioning has consisted of cycling through not caring/being chill in the Q spot and having zero chill with heightened anxiety re: whether I'm gay. Fun stuff.

    1. No. No evidence, indication, or likelihood of this; it's not how they work.

    2. That wouldn't *determine* your sexuality, but would be an indication (along with other factors) that perhaps you aren't aroused by the male anatomy. That said, it's less about sex organs and what you are *not* attracted to, and more about what you *are* attracted to.

If you have time, could you explain the latter a little further? I'm not quite getting it.

So... for most people, the sight of a sexual organ itself isn't what creates arousal and excitement.

This isn't a perfect analogy, but if you enjoy off-road biking through the mountains, simply seeing a bike isn't what provides exhilaration; it's being on the bike and riding through the mountains. And it's the same with sexual connection. It's a combination of a bunch of different factors that people are aroused by. Likewise, ask most straight guys who watch porn and it isn't an image of a vagina that instantly arouses them; it's the action of the two (or more) people having sex that creates the arousal.

A much better indicator is masturbatory fantasies. If you find yourself thinking about girls when you masturbate, then that's likely where your sexual arousal and attraction (and therefore your orientation) is focused. If you find yourself thinking about guys... same thing applies. Seeing the equipment in person has very, very little to do with it.
