The Kinsey scale is a measure from 1 to 6 that people use to describe their sexual orientation. A "1" represents exclusively heterosexual, while a "6" represents exclusively homosexual. Some people like to use it because they don't like the labels gay/bi/whatever, but like to describe their orientation that way.
