I don't play the drums exactly (I know the theory of it but my rhythm coordination for some reason just goes to hell when I start playing the drums) but I play a bunch of other percussion instruments. My dad used to have a tabla which I liked playing but he lost it when we moved house :/

I'm a percussion secondary at my uni, I love it! Mostly orchestral/mallet percussion though, I've done very little dabbling with set.

Ah, that's cool. Percussion is awesome, something I want to dabble in at some point! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Been playing drums for the past 18ish years. Getting paid for it for about 12. The Army thankfully provides me with some awesome equip but I have my own Swingstar set at home when I don't want to hang out at the music hall.

I played bass in marching band my first year, I always loved that I could never really play to loud. Seems like everywhere else we get told to play softer.:bang:

I am what was usually called a 'drummer boy'. I was assigned to the musician corps of my reenactment unit last year, grouped together with the company's bagpiper and two younger drummer lads, one of which bought his own musket and joined the infantry's ranks.

To be honest, I thought it would be harder, but napoleonic era drum calls and tunes are easy xD.

I've actually played on a Sony e-kit that has some really sensitive pads and some great sound to it. Mimics acoustics about as much as you'll ever need. I forgot what it was called, but the pads (toms and snare) were really soft and fluffy, and the kit itself had a pretty insane price, even for the store I was in.

Wooooo drummers! I play set and am a percussionist as well. I was that kid who played on pots and pans  It's too much fun to not do!
