that's cute it reminds me of how i call Stone Cold (the wrestler) Stoney. he's not the only one i call a nickname like that. i call Cody Rhodes "Cocoa", and Seth Rollins "Sethy" and Dean Ambrose "Deany" and so on.

I get called different things by different people. Some call me by my first name, some by my last, and some call me one of the many nicknames I have lol

Had quite a few nicks in school but the most pervasive was "Doobey". The irony was that I did not smoke.

No it isn't a bad thing. I've recently changed my name socially to better match my gender.

People have called me by my chosen name since I was two. I don't see the problem.

It's not bad. I have a nickname. No one knew what my real name was until my math teacher called me by it. They thaught my real name was my middle name (which I don't go by but what I have personalized stuff by that name.) No one will think your untrustworthy.

i've started introducing myself with a different name, though that is because it matches my gender a little better. but i've known quite a few people who go by names other than their legal one. my sister goes by her middle name, which was my parents' choice

No I don't think it's bad at all.. My Dad has one legal name, but goes by another name as my grandfather registered his name the wrong way around when he went to register his birth. My uncle also gets goes by Buck when he has a totally different first name. If you have a different name you wish to go by, then that is all you need to explain to someone if they find your legal name is different. I have a nickname I go by as well, it is typical for my name though and my niece has taken to calling me something else as well as she can't say my real name yet.

Amen to that. If someone is going to get their panties in a twist about it then that more reflects them than you. Many people "go by" a different name to the one they were born in.

Nope. I've done it more than once. Using my real name now though.
