Hi! My name's Glenn, I'm 26 and I live on an island! Not the tropical beach kind- it's actually off of the UK which I guess is also an island... but still! I like games and generally being friendly to people. I feel like a bit of a fraud signing up for this support forum because I'm out to most people, even my fairly homophobic family. I'm actually quite happy in life at the moment, but I remember when things were really rough for me in the past, I joined a forum just like this (sadly it's dead now :icon_sad and it really helped me get through. You guys look like a really friendly community, so if you'll have me, I thought I'd say hi and maybe even offer some of my (very limited) wisdom. :icon_wink

Each of our brains is so limited, but our hearts have a capacity to connect with others who see the world very differently than us. Welcome to EC Glenn, it's good to have you on board. It's really important for EC to have members, like you (and me I suppose) who have been through the entire coming out process. Our experience can hopefully help and inspire those who are at the beginning of, or some way along the coming out journey. So forget the idea that you are a fraud for being here. Never been to the IoW. Is there any sort of LGBT community on the island, or do you have to hop across to the mainland (assuming you are into the whole scene)?
Thanks so much guys! It's actually lovely, though it has a bit of a reputation for being boring and full of old people, we do have some very nice beaches. There is a small LGBT support group but nothing really in the way of clubs and bars. A shame in a way, but I moved here from London so I actually appreciate some peace and quiet! Plus it's not far to Portsmouth by boat from where I live.
