Last year we had a winter storm like this hit this area, which was worsened by the fact that we're 40 miles inland from Lake Michigan, so we get plenty of lake-effect snow. I grew up in Southeastern Michigan, which is considerably less harsh in the winter than it is out here in West Michigan. But during that winter storm, we got about a foot and a half of snow overnight, and I didn't set foot outside for 3 and a half days.

Weather forecasters, like many men, exaggerate the number of inches involved.

SO DISAPPOINTED!! We didn't get even 1 foot, let alone the 2-3 feet we were promised!
