    Hi there!

    My name is Daria. I live in the south of Russia (it's the main reason why I will make a lot of mistakes ( More mistakes for God of mistakes!) - sorry for that).
    I don't know a lot of LGBT-people so I will be really happy to chat with you about...about everything!
    I'm a bisexual nonetheless prefer girls. I met my first girlfriend in the age of 14. Unfortunately, my family is pretty traditional and homophobic so I've never left my closet. (But it has its own advantages : for example I can be cagy like a ninja or secret spy. Yeah, it's awful advantage but it makes me happy)

    I adore literature, crafting, cooking, computer games and mythology. Also I love travel. Unfortunately, I have never been aboard but one day!

    I hope I will find a lot of good friends here :slight_smile:

    Hmm, I should be careful because I'm gonna be a teacher ( there were some scandals when teachers were fired in the reason of their orientation. I think it is unfairly. The orientation doesn't affect on professional qualities). Nonetheless I know some people who protect the LGBT rights (But all of them live in Moscow or St. Petersburg. It's really hard to fight for LGBT rights in another cities. ). We even have one amazing project "Дети 404" ( Children 404 ). It protects and helps LGBT teenagers because our government think they do not exist. You know, like it was in the Winter Olympic games - one politician said " There are no LGBT people in Sochi, guys! What a nonsense!" It was absurdly. In this project children and teenagers tell each other their problems. Sometimes stories are so scary!
    But if you don't care about your profession or your family is open-mined you can come out without problems ( except the traditionalists and the Orthodox - they can be pain in the ass). Unfortunately, gay or bi still can't marry.

    Привет! Нет, нет, твой уровень владения языком очень даже не плох, правда. Есть кое-какие ошибки, но они довольно незначительны и не мешают пониманию. Молодец :slight_smile:

    Wow, I thought it's safe to be an LGBT-peson in USA. I'm so sorry. I hope you are not pressured by reason of orientation!

    Ну, не смотря на кучу-кучу гомофобных законов, Россия, на мой взгляд, довольно хорошая страна. Если приспособится к кое-каким вещам, то вообще здорово потому что много разнообразной свободы: свободы слова, свободы информации и т.д. А еще здесь, по-моему, отличная кухня. Еда - это важно :icon_bigg

    Please note that the USSR (the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) existed from 1922 to 1991, thus is no longer a thing. Today, it is the Russian Federation, much smaller than the USSR.

    I have some dear friends that are from Russia, and they've told me how hard things are in there (more than the media and the news let us know about). I do hope things get better, and that you're able to freely be yourself soon in the future. There's always good people trying to help everywhere, that always gives me hope.

    I don't know a lot about German culture ( exept mythology) but German language is the most beautiful and velvet of all for me. I start study it next autumn.

    Hey and welcome to EC! :icon_bigg One of my cousins knows Russian and my uncle knew it too (he's not alive anymore). And my father knows some words (My Grandma is from a city in Ukraine near Zhytomyr if I'm not incorrect, but back in the days it was part of the USSR). They spoke Russian (and probably had influences from Ukranian too). =) I don't know Russian, so I can't read the Russian bits without Google Translate. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

    A fun fact is that my boyfriend is studying Russian this semester. =)

    Anyway, it's not about me, sorry!! Enjoy your stay here!! :grin:
