I remember reading about that first image. Apparently it was a photo of everyone evacuating a city due to chemical warfare. Not sure if it's true, I don't recall a lot of the details.
They were all looking for mommy... Posing with dead relatives is beyond creepy... And I guess stinky as well, regardless of all chemicals. At the same time it makes you think how our relationship with death has changed. I feel kind of privileged I had the chance to clean and dress up my boyfriend, which is something uncommon in the western world nowadays. It never crossed my mind back then to take a photo. I wonder why they did such a thing... There is zero comfort in looking at a picture of someone dead.

The vampire one hurts to look at. I mean, look at the size of that stake! And the hole in the heart, no wonder the guy perished. Yeesh.
