Haven't played in a few days. I like air conditioning better than going out in 100 degree heat despite this right here being my childhood dream.

Today, on the radio, I heard a PSA that was all like "Don't catch and drive."

I wish that "Don't play Pokemon Go while driving" could go without saying. Unfortunately, we have too many people who are stupid enough to do just that.

Ah, yes the peak of popularity. The thing is Pokemon GO is available in Japan now so I think it'll be at its' peak for awhile. But if we're talking exclusively North America, I'd say I agree with you. I still know people playing it and it's all the rave on my college campus. Just the majority of N. America's population has quit raving about it and no longer gets in everyone's faces about it.

My dad does it, too. It makes me nervous, so I keep an eye out on the road for him.

Yeah. The thing is, people playing Pokemon Go while driving seems to have become a huge epidemic here in Portland. More so than anywhere else.

    Portland, get your shit together.

There was a story, not too long ago, that a guy in Baltimore plowed into a cop car and then stated he was playing Pokemon Go

And have you seen the updates they plan on making? Pokemon centers, breeding, trading, battling, some more legendaries, and THREE more generations of Pokemon. I'm thinking/hoping Pokemon GO is still in its quirky infancy.

    ---------- Post added 26th Jul 2016 at 08:56 PM ----------

They say Pokemon GO currently only has 10% of the features they plan for it to.

I saw rhe Pokemon center and the trading, along with the battling. Some more legendaries? They first need to put in the three birds and Meetwo along with Mew. I think I read somewhere this is actually still in Beta but they wanted to see how well it would do first. I didn't know about three more generations. Although, that makes sense, all of the movies I've seen is Gen I-IV.

It would be interesting, maybe they'll even have a police station and you can help Officer Jenny on quests to solve mysteries.

The problem with all of this is that if it's not done right, you'll have people fatigue of the game and/or overwhelmed by all of these new releases. Plus, while most agree Generation I is the best, later generations don't fare as well. Even though I'm not a big Pokemon fan, even I can tell you the whole Mega Evolution thing seems like crap.

Maybe for you guys in the US its dipped in popularity, but in Aus, just walking down the street you can see a good chunk of people out with the app. Its sweeping across the nation, causing devastation :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

(have to admit im in with its craze at the moment still, fine with it because its giving me a good reason to go out and walk, as I have to lose some weight since I put on a lot since I was overseas, and I wouldn't really have any will to in the cold weather that's going through at the moment, shush under 15 degrees Celsius is freezing after being in Italy which was around 37 degrees. )

I don't put up with any of that crap. I smacked my Mom across the face for doing it after I told her nicely to stop several times and she didn't listen. It's illegal, it can get you a fine if you're caught, and It's more dangerous than driving drunk. Your life is worth more than an imaginary fictional creature.

I honestly don't even like the game that much (and this is coming from a major Pokemon fan. I mean a serious 90's kid who's played all generations since red and blue came out). I had high hopes for this game, but it really bored me after coming out. You're just throwing balls at Pokemon, no real gameplay, battle, or trading system. No where near as good as the real games. Way too many idiots getting themselves hurt doing it too, It's going to become an epidemic.

I've maybe only noticed a minor dip in popularity, but that's to be expected of all new games. It's still going strong here in the US. You see Pokemon Go players everywhere in the city. Just yesterday, I went to a popular lake for Pokemon Go and there were a lot of people there.

    ---------- Post added 28th Jul 2016 at 08:41 PM ----------

They have confirmed that more generations of Pokemon are coming. Although, I don't know anything about the legendaries. It would be cool to add Articuno (Mystic ftw), Zapdos, and Moltres though.

I had it. Caught like 75 pokemon, including a few of the rare ones (the game thinks I live in the middle of the ocean...) but now they've geoblocked the area so I'm sad because I'm missing out haha.

I've never liked the mega evolution thing. Fortunately, they only plan on going to gen IV, which is before mega evolutions.
