    Hey guys,

The other day I wondered what nicknames gay couples use for each other - I know straight couples often call each other "babe", "honey" or "sweetie" (just so me examples off the top of my head) but I can't seem to picture a gay couple saying that to each other.

Any thoughts? Have I just not seen this or is there actually a difference here?

This is a great question. I want to know how this works too. My hunch is that it's pretty much the same. We'll find out.

My husband and I have a bunch that we use in private, but as far as what we use in public I usually say "babe" and he usually says "hon".

Like OGS said, Babe and Hon are my go-tos. Sweetie, cutie, dear are a few others.

    Private... that's between he and I :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Damn, the suspects aren't talking.

We probably should restart this thread in the "anonymous" section.

    I like "sweetheart" best. ♥

It's probably no different from straight couples.

Darling, dude, bro, usually, we're not actually a couple, just really good friends but the dynamic is basically the same haha.

If I'm thanking him, it goes something along the line of "thanks, you're a babe."

    we're really weird.

Well, not quite a gay couple here but a hag and my fag. (not derogatory)

A lot of "G'night Hun." "hey Babe." "My Hag" "My Fag." "Okay, stinking Halfbreed." (used in jest because we are both 50/50 of two different races.)

Obviously the last three aren't for everyone, but that's our pet names for each other, it's our way, and for us, that's a good thing to be called by the other.

Just whatever feels good to you, doesn't have to be politically correct, or even polite if it works for you.

    i hate the nicknames =P
i can name a few of them but they're not that much different ( i think they're so cheesy lol)
Babe, Sweetheart, honey, hun, Hon(this sounds less gay and less serious), boo boo, sweetie, honeybun, daddy, papi, papa, darling, angel, dear, cuddle bunny, gorgeous, handsome, sexy, beautiful, love, wifey, shortie, Baby, pookie, pudding, sugar, queen, friend(for sluts.)
i'm pretty sure i'm missing a few, inspired by Shaggy.

The only pet name I use for my boyfriend is 'Love.' But I call a lot of people that. Like my close friends also.

I don't see why It's different than straight couples. Gay men use 'honey' and 'dear' all the time. Straight women also call their husbands that.

Personally, I don't like nicknames. They're cheesy as hell. I use first names only.
