With so many people just using headphones today, I was wondering if anyone still owned a proper Hi-Fi set or stereo anymore.

I have a karaoke machine that I use as a stereo. I don't have a proper iHome and I don't have any of my music on my new laptop. So I end up using my stereo a lot.

I play music CD's on my DVD player. My TV has the best speakers. Otherwise it's headphones.

I don't really like headphones, I have always thought they sounded flat compared to a stereo, so I have a pair of old tower speakers and an amp connected up to a computer.

I found a pair of headphones in my basement that I assume are from the 1990's.

They are heavy, and have a jack that's about as long as my pinkie.

That's a 1/4 TRS (tip, ring sleeve.) jack, they make adapters so you could use them with your laptop. You should be able to find them cheap at a radioshack. Some of those old headphones are worth money believe it or not.

I probably have one in the closet somewhere, but I pretty much only listen to music on my computer with my sennheiser headphones.

Yep, own a couple stereo's - surround sound infact & use one of 'em almost every day.
Everything's connected to it - TV/DVD/CD/Tuner/Tape-Deck/etc/...and yes, the Computer too
I don't do headphones except on the few rare occasions I have my MP3 player with me & i'm out somewhere away from stuff

I own a stereo and use it regularly to play vinyl records. It's like 50/50, I also use my (shitty) laptop speakers and iTunes to play music I don't own a physical copy of.

    Absolutely!

But then I'm a DJ (not pro anymore, just fun/nostalgia) and I try to produce music as well, so I suppose that doesn't really count as a regular person when it comes to music listening habits.

That's awesome, I used to play LPs all the time, but now not so much, I just haven't had the time to really sit down and enjoy the music.

I used to produce music but now I mostly do mix-downs and engineering for friends. As I enjoy the technical side of music production a lot, and I really haven't been in a creative mood for awhile now... Some times I record bass on my friends projects too. If you have questions on anything like that, feel free to ask.

Yep, I love music, and I feel a good audio system is very important.

I use a Carver TFM-45 Amp, 375w/Channel, along with a Hafler DH-100 pre-amp, driving an older pair of Klipsch speakers, along with a Music Hall MMF-5 Turntable, and Grado Gold Cartridge, and a Marantz CD player; can't recall the model.

The I have a separate headphone system, using a Carver pre-amp, another marantz CD-player, and some Grado 225 headphones.

Music is really important to me, and I've never liked the compressed sound of MP3s. They're ok in the car or on the go, but I like to be more enveloped in the sound.

Still got a small one that has cassette / vinyl / AM,FM & LW radio. Great for the vinyl but don't use it much - usually just earphones in my phone or laptop

I don't own what you would call a Hi-fi now, but I do have a set up so that I can listen to music (Ipod touch/Comp goes to a Bluetooth receiver which is connected to some amplified speakers with a sub woofer
