The debate and fight for the cell phone industry has always had these two companies involved. Whether it is one suing the other or the other claiming to be better quality than one, Samsung and Apple truly are major enemies in the cellular market.

I ask you guys, which cellphones do you prefer and why?

    Go Samsung!

I've never liked Apple due to Steve Jobs, and his moralizing, and trying to control content. I recall he once said, "Imagine a porn free internet!". Um, OK. Sure. Great.

I don't watch much porn anyway, but I don't want some Monopolistic nanny-state dictating what data I can and can't receive on my phones, tablets, &c.

To me, Apple has long been over-rated, over-priced, and over-hyped.

    Go Samsung! Topple Apple!

Actually, I'd like to see even more keen competition...never good to have so few companies in control. I'd like more choices.

    i agree with Samsung too!
I have so many flaws which I have found with apple devices.
    Such as:
-most of your devices need to be able to share your data easily
-the operating system never changes (until recent) and there aren't incredible features which can be found on the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S3.
-the international prices are extravagant and stay that price even when a new iphone comes out
-The absolute control of everything going in and out of the iphone.

I love samsung because it beats all the flaws of apple and the only downside is just that it is made of plastic. However I find that the s4 feels like a premium and stylish phone.

I prefer Apple because iPhones look nicer and I like iOS. Having used both the only gripe I've had with Apple was restricting synchronising to iTunes.
Android and iOS have their aesthetic differences, but both have the same essential apps so for the average user there is little difference.
The patent war was, is, stupid and Apple has been rightfully criticised for them...
But in the end, despite all marketing claims, they're both just money-hungry corporations who want you to buy their things.

    Apple -
All of their products work well together. They are designed to be stable and have the looks. The only fault I could ever pick with them is their price tag but it's worth it.

    Samsung.
I own an iPhone 4, iPad 3, a G1 iPod nano (only the iPod I got willingly), and I've tried using my brother's Macbook. I have never had more problems with technology than I have when I've used an Apple device. Plus, unless I jailbreak an iPhone/Pod/Pad, I always feel like I'm being herded. I never feel like I truly own my device.

I like Samsung, but there is something about Apple products which ooze quality, mind you they know this and put the price tag to match it.
I do like both but find the Apple products very expensive compared to Samsung

I despise the entire Apple ethos. The whole special-snowflake-ism that it plays into, their massive push towards obsoletism, their restrictive policies and software and hardware. The only reason their stuff 'just works' is because it doesn't let you do anything interesting.

I don't really like Samsung's alterations to Android either. Android is a very elegant OS, and I haven't seen anything Samsung adds to it that doesn't just clutter it up.

I wish we all had things better to do than have a "who has a bigger d*ck" contest" , but here's the thing....Apple and Samsung are really two completely different companies.

I love apple because I know what I'm doing. You pull up a tab and my gosh, you get what you're looking for. With Samsung/Android, it's like "what does this button do?" I admit, I would love to do different things with my phone, but I don't want to have twenty five different devices for twenty five different things. I've got better things to do.

My best friend really hates Samsung. He says they copy off of everything Apple does. I haven't bought an Apple product since 2007 so I don't know much about these things. All I know is I've never cared much for Apple's style. "Oh, look we created a really cool, overpriced electronic! Go out and buy it until we release a better one next year!" I've also never really liked Steve Jobs.

But what do I know? I don't own a smartphone. All I do know is that I won't be buying a Mac anytime soon.

I get it, I do...but didn't the galaxy s 4 come out a year or so after the 3rd one? Always wondered that.

I've also never understood that bump thing, where you bump phones together and share stuff...isn't that what you have data for?

Never owned an Apple product. Never will. They are over-priced, over-hyped, and under-functional.

I actually dislike both in a way.

I currently own a Samsung Galaxy Ace. While it's the best phone I've used thus far (that I've owned), it annoyed me that Samsung didn't support the phone with updates and that they installed crappy software.

My problem with Samsung is that they go the other extreme to just not look like Apple. They release hundreds of different Galaxy phones in hope that one sticks (which two did, the Note- and S-series). They support those two and ignore the rest of the phones. And I was honestly shocked that they released the S4 so soon after the S3.

And here's my problem with Apple: Apple is the only company I know that could sell sand to someone living in the desert. Their advertising is so effective they can sell the same phone every year with small, minuscule changes and still charge such a high price. People scream "innovation" every time, but honestly I see majority of the innovation coming from Windows Phone and Android land. And all that aside, they're bullies. They are becoming like Microsoft who think they can just sue the competition into submission. The similarities between iOS and TouchWiz are minor at best and everyone who says otherwise are nitpicking at minor similarities that shouldn't matter in the first place ("Samsung copied 'Slide to unlock'!" Give me a break. Slide to unlock existed years before the first cellphone).

Honestly, both parties can just fuck off. I'm sick and tired of it. Let's just run Firefox OS and Ubuntu Phone (when it comes out), guys!

I like Samsung. Every Samsung item I've owned has been great. I can't really speak for Apple. I've never owned an Apple product, but mostly because they are outrageously expensive and overpriced, and I feel like I'm just paying for the name only. I'm not saying I'd never buy an apple product, but right now Samsung gives me no reason to change.

I never had samsung but if i did, I'm for samsung. Maybe they do copy off what apple does but probably any company could do that. They are way overpriced in my opinion, There graphics and designs are complete shit to me. I have HTC and their graphics look way better than apples to me and plus your limited with apple and they want you to pay for everything.

I don't do contracts personally because I can download free apps with my wifi that give me free unlimited calling and unlimited texting and can hold up to 500 songs and it's not even that big. Apple just scams people and samsung seems to give you more to work with.

People love apple because of how fancy it is.
I don't give a shit about how it looks. I look at the real stuff and the price especially
