On Facebook I noticed that they recently took away the "interested in men and women" option. Also they don't have good user help at all, so it's nearly impossible to talk to an actual person who works there. Kind of venting here But I'm trying to find out why they took it down and hopefully they'll put it back up.
I was poking about Facebook a few days ago and noticed that the option for setting "interested in" seemed to have vanished. Or else moved someplace I haven't thought to look.. Although I do notice that "interested in" still appears on other's profiles.
This does bring up the option, so it's still there. I must have been looking in the wrong place or something the other day. Thanks!
Oh yes that worked! Mine doesn't have an option to automatically click both, but it worked when I chose both individually. Thanks!
I thought you always had to click both individually? Am I missing something? I have mine set to Women.....one day I'll change it
Well, there used to be an option for it but I guess it doesn't make any difference since you can click both.
I changed mine a few weeks back. No one noticed apart from the people who already knew when they guessed what my cryptic post was about :L either that or people have seen it and haven't said anything :L
Why do people actually fill out that section? Is Facebook a dating site? I mean, I oculd understand if it were a "sexual orientation" section, but the whole "interested in..." thing just reeks of dating site.
It may not be a dating site, but some people sure use it as one, or at least check out info about potential partners there.
I have to wonder if the "interested in" might not date to when Facebook was primary aimed at college students. That piece of info might have been quite handy, as people either researched, connected with, or stalked potential dates... ---------- Post added 20th Aug 2013 at 01:41 PM ---------- So far, I've indicated no option. But then I tend post little in the "about me" section. My contact list is so short everyone knows where I live, and many know past details, such as schools I went to.
True. My neighbour is cheating on her husband with a guy she met on Facebook. I just didn't know many people used it for that.
It's still on mine. After thinking more about my Sexuality, I'm glad I haven't put Interested In: Men!
