Hey guys, I've been considering getting a tablet. I'm just wondering how different a tablet is from a normal computer or a laptop. Can you do everything on a tablet that you can do on a computer or laptop? I mostly use my computer to blog and update my social media profiles. Also, what is the best tablet to buy?
No, a desktop/laptop will do much more. However if all you do is social media and blog then you'll really like a tablet. The nexus 7 is a good small tablet, however IMHO the iPad is the best. I'd wait if you're going to buy an iPad, the new one is being announced in less than two weeks.
What do you mean by tablet? Like an ipad? A bamboo? A Wacom Cintiq? Or something by HP or Toshiba or Asus?
I am currently on my friend's nexus 7 and I have to say I really like it. I've been borrowing it for about a week since my computer blew up and I think its great. I like it better than the iPad for sure (which I have also used).
Thanks. I think I'll wait for the announcement of the new one. What can a desktop/laptop do that a tablet can't? Store a lot of information I'm guessing right? ---------- Post added 28th Aug 2013 at 07:11 PM ---------- I guess something like an ipad. I'm not too familiar with them. ---------- Post added 28th Aug 2013 at 07:12 PM ---------- I'll check out what I can about the nexus 7.
1) More storage space 2) You can't run x86/64 Windows programs on a tablet, unless you get a Surface Pro 3) Personally, I prefer using a physical mouse/keyboard over a touchscreen.
I use my Ipad for everything, however it gets annoying because websites that would work normal with one recognize it as a mobile which gets annoying. I would suggest getting a Nexus though. My friend has one and it is amazing.
What are you using now? Windows or Mac? It makes a difference if you like or more than the other.... I use a Mac Pro laptop so I have an iPad tablet... Also what can you afford that would be a deciding factor! If you want to compare goto cnet.com to get the scoop.
Yes, current use is definitely a deciding factor, and from what I've seen, the Windows 8 Pro tablets provide a decent tablet experience while still allowing for the ability to do a lot of the content creation things you'd do with a laptop. Definitely not a substitute for a gaming rig, or a video editing desktop, but can get things done.
I'm use Windows Vista. What would you suggest in my case? I've been saving for a long time so I can afford anything. Oh and thanks for the site link. ---------- Post added 29th Aug 2013 at 08:21 PM ---------- That sound nice. Thanks for the suggestion of the Windows 8 Pro tablet.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 2 7.0. It does its job good but recently its been playing up... And i've only had it 10 months... But it still good
