Alright, so I've been trying to get into roguelikes for a while now. Younger, I enjoyed the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series quite a bit, but as I've grown I've become less enthusiastic about that particular franchise. So here's what I'm looking for: a roguelike with ascii graphics, which I find delightful; and something with an atmosphere and gameplay similar to ADOM, but with simpler controls/mechanics. Does this game exist?!

I used to be addicted to Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, I remember staying up late at night just to find the entrance of a new dungeon or to get a new ability. I haven't played ADOM so I don't know how the mechanics compare but the gameplay looks similar enough. If you like ascii roguelikes, you'll have a lot of fun with DCSS.
