Here a indie game i like: Space Funeral Download Free! (PC Only) Play as Phillip the pajama wearing crybaby who goes on a quest with the Leg Horse to find his destiny and why the world is falling apart. Its a fun Final Fantasy stile JRPG with unique graphics and music. PC only i'm afraid. Anyone else have any indie games they want to share?
I have one a lot of people don't know about, it's called Eversion. It's an HP Lovecraft inspired platformer where every level has alternating dimensions you can jump into, you can only enter them at specific points though. As you go through more layers, the world comes more hellish and corrupted. It's really good and I've had a lot of fun with it. I definitely recommend it.
I am enjoying 'Gone Home' and 'Papers Please'. Both on Steam. Completely different types of experiences.
Does Kerbal Space Program count? I think it's an indie developer. At any rate, it's relatively little-known, and absolutely gleaming bricks of gold in game form. It's not for everybody, as its learning curve is merciless with a prerequisite enthusiasm for aerospace engineering and physics, but no game yet has given me such a feeling of accomplishment for meeting certain goals. Not only that, but I've actually learned about real rocket science from playing and was able to improve my sci-fi novel appreciably. And that is a RARE achievement in space games. https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/
I'm a big fan of the Touhou Project. It's a Japanese series of Bullet Hell shooters, and it's hard to explain. Let's just say you need to dodge the bullets. (TV Tropes has a page for it and a page on its genre.) I also like Yume Nikki, which is about a recluse who sleeps and visits a surreal dream world called the Nexus. It's very surreal.
Being a popular game on Ubuntu, that reminds me of another game, called OpenArena. It's basically Quake but open source and it's free, so go ahead and get it on Ubuntu Store or sudo apt-get install it on the root terminal for other distros.
Deadlight was a very good one, once they ironed out all the sound bugs. Very simple yet very polished zombie indie game.
I really enjoy Thomas Was Alone and The Witch's House, both games are a lot of fun with awesome plots.
Agreed, recently bought this and it is really fun, although there is a part I'm having trouble getting past. Also bought Papers Please and it is really interesting and pretty fun. To The Moon was an amazing game story-wise and I've been playing Spelunky. Going to buy gone home soon, because of what I've heard of the story, and now I'm probably going to check out all the other games people mentioned c:
Thomas Was Alone is amazing. Also, if you haven't played Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, you go do it right now. It'll only take like three hours. It's an absolute sin that that game wasn't at the top of the Steam list for months.
