Weird computer quirk

Discussion in 'Entertainment and Technology' started by shamrockmut93, Oct 12, 2013.

  1. You know those updates that come up once in a while on your laptop? I honestly just keep putting mine off until my laptop does it by itself when it goes into hybernate. This time it did something kind of weird, when I started it up, I realized it had tried to open about five windows in internet explorer, but I wasn't connected to any network. I actually think I might have left a window open, I do that sometimes, but I'm not sure. I'm not sure if I should be worried, because my laptop re-starts every program when it updates, but I don't know, it struck me as suspicious. To be honest, I've never run a virus scan on this laptop, and I'm kind of afraid to because I don't know how... it doesn't seem to have any other signs of being infected, it runs fine, and it isn't slow or anything. Anyway, I do not know anything about computers at all, so if anyone knows anything about this I'd appreciate it. I'd like to just blame it on some kind of one-time glitch or something, could it be that?

you should regularly run virus anyways. reboot computer and go to safe mode with networking, I think it's F7 or F8 when the windows is loading. Then, you could download malwarebyte anti-malware to get started on scanning for baddies.

  3. Aright I'll keep that in mind, though I was just wondering if I should be immediately worried... I'll actually need to get a friend to help me with all that, I'm seriously that clueless when I comes to these things :bang:

I haven't scan my computer for 90 days and I found virus, :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: my silly gay porn

  5. lol was it really bad though? Or was it just taking up space? Also I have 65 systems running, which is actually lower than normal... I cancelled a bunch that were being used by programs that I don't use. I should just delete those, idk why I keep putting that off...

sometimes bad programs pretend to be another program by using the same name, but yeah, if you're friend is better with computers, ask him to help you
