All EC-ers, but especially Americans on here, you should absolutely support the initiative to strike down this legislation. I don't know how anyone left or right of the aisle could conclude that this is a good idea, but it means far less privacy on the internet. They plan to let companies into a bunch more private data including communications under the name of "increased security" and then send it to the government (including the NSA) without a warrant. Well, we all know how that goes. https://action.eff.org/o/9042/p/dia/action/public/?action_KEY=9048
You've got to be fucking kidding me. AGAIN? UGH, why can't people just learn this is a train wreck of a bill?
Not this again... I would think after SOPA, PIPA, and ACTA we'd be done with all this extreme internet legislation crap. SOPA and PIPA were fun topics of debate for me, especially because I was a part of this contest where you pretty much analyze and apply different aspects of the constitution.. Not surprisingly, my group got the Bill of Rights and the 4th Amendment, and the Patriot Act/SOPA/PIPA were big parts of it. Time to share it amongst my peers.
This is beyond annoying at this point. The bill won't pass. It's like the SOPA incident. It didn't pass the first time, and it sure as hell didn't every other time they brought it back. It's probably dumb to ignore it now, but I won't bother signing it. It won't get past the Senate IMO.
I'm not going to yell at you, but I really hope not. I just fear one of these times it will get through and then we're in it deep.
I thought government shut down... what the fuck, Congress? what is up with Congress obsessing internet laws and women's right and gay rights?
At least until November 6th  ---------- Post added 22nd Oct 2013 at 12:42 AM ---------- Worst case scenario, it will be like the NDAA which was passed in near secret on New Years 2011.
